This is the chronologically first piece that started the Jesus and Women suite of paintings. Christ sat in the sand as the men cast the adulterous woman before him, caught in the act of adultery they prepared for the stoning. Satan stands as the leader of the accusers. The work is part of a series of Jesus and Women suites, and is designed as iconic stain glass works for personal devotionals.
