Artist's Description

We see Christ on the Cross from God's perspective, gazing up at the father beneath the bloody halo of the thorny crown, eyes filled with love and a smile of forgiveness shining through his blood stained visage. The earth and its peoples vanish in the clouds of a planet searching for spiritual truth but able only to grasp at the vapors of an earthly existence. The cross stretches from the earth to heaven and to God whose Son is the sole liaison to the peoples beneath the clouds. The piece was designed to be hung either up or down depending on the devotional prayers of the person viewing it. It is a deeply personal piece to the artist and is her favorite work to date. Hand ground pigments selected and transported personally from Germany, painted on triple rabbit skin glue sized Belgian Linen, double hand primed.
